Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Software Test Engineer to lead Verification / Validation within a development team. This role drives the quality and reliability by leading manual and automated test. The candidate will be responsible for driving test strategy, execution, acceptance, and communication. The role will need to evaluate accuracy of software representing physical Electrical Networks (Single Line Diagrams) and Digital Twin representations. The candidate will be tasked to lead testing strategies, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety. There will also be responsibility for test automation.

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $110,000 - $125,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees, inclusive of medical (with member reward points), dental, vision, and basic life insurance, Benefit Bucks (credits to apply towards your benefits) flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, 401(k) + match, well-being and recognition (including service anniversary) programs, 12 holidays per year, 15 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date), and military leave benefits.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and implement detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for edge software applications related to Electrical Network and Power design.
  • Execute manual and design automated tests to identify software defects and ensure software quality.
  • Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and design effective testing strategies.
  • Perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality is not compromised by new changes.
  • Analysis of test results, identify root causes of defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
  • Maintain and update test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on software quality and testability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and industry trends to continuously improve testing processes.
  • Give feedback on business and technical requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Power Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on edge computing or related technologies.
  • 1-2 Years in Power Application engineering or deployment
  • Familiar with IT networking, IT Server Setup, Cybersecurity
  • Familiar with communications protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Test Complete, Selenium)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum development methodologies.
