Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager with over 10 years of experience in commercial and industrial construction to lead the engineering aspects of high-profile projects. This role involves overseeing the technical and engineering functions, ensuring the delivery of innovative, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions that align with project requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and working on large-scale projects in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

Oversee all engineering activities, including design, analysis, and implementation of project solutions.

  • Review and approve engineering plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Ensure engineering solutions align with project goals, budgets, and timelines.

Project Management

Collaborate with project managers to integrate engineering activities into the overall project lifecycle.

  • Provide technical expertise during planning, execution, and close-out phases of projects.
  • Ensure all engineering deliverables meet client and regulatory standards.

    • Team Leadership and Development

    Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, fostering professional growth and collaboration.

  • Assign tasks, set performance goals, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team.

    • Budget and Resource Management

    Develop and manage engineering budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.

  • Identify and procure necessary tools, equipment, and materials for engineering activities.
  • Monitor expenses and adjust engineering plans as necessary to stay within budget.

    • Quality Assurance and Compliance

    Ensure all engineering solutions comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Implement and enforce quality control processes to maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for technical challenges.

    • Stakeholder Engagement

    Serve as a key point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors on engineering-related matters.

  • Provide regular updates on engineering progress and address any technical concerns.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project success.

    • Qualifications

    Education :

    Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (required).

  • Master's degree in Engineering Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).

    • Experience :

    Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial and industrial construction engineering.

  • Proven track record of leading engineering efforts for projects exceeding $10 million in scope.
  • Strong background in design-build and preconstruction processes.

    • Skills and Competencies :

    Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000).

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills to manage multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certifications.
  • Familiarity with sustainable engineering practices and innovative construction technologies.
  • Experience in public sector or infrastructure projects is a plus.
