Software Engineering Team Lead
Lead a team of software engineers through design, development and documentation of software engineering plans of large complex systems
Attract, engage and retain a team of software engineers (10 15), to build critical software applications for a NO FAIL mission
Perform hiring decisions, performance assessment, and personnel management for a team of technical staff members
Coordinate across engineering teams in the integration of large complex systems, utilizing automation and simulation tools
Plan project level work and meet schedule, cost, and performance goals.
Manage program technical risks by evaluating requirements and design aspects
Interact with a cross-functional team of (including, but not limited to) Engineers, Engineering leaders, Program Managers, Business Developers, Finance, Quality, and Production
Serve as a liaison between functional discipline groups and internal and external customers
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of Software Engineers
- Effective communication skills with all levels of management, program team members, and external stakeholders
- Experience leading engineers through software development of applications
- Project Management, Control Account Management (CAM), and earned value experience
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Working knowledge of bidding and project/task estimation tools (e.g. SEER-SEM products)
- Experience with processes such as peer review, configuration, and change management
- Participating in root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Experience with flight deck, flight management system, or avionics software development
- Experience with model-based systems engineering and modeling practices
- Experience with Agile methodologies
