Department: Laboratory, Work Hours: Monday through Friday, shift times may vary.
The Specimen Processor is responsible for operating and troubleshooting the pre-analytical automation if applicable and as assigned. Will routinely register patients, verify patient identity and perform test order entry into laboratory information system accurately and efficiently to ensure proper testing and charges of patient account. Receive, prepare, and process all lab samples delivered to the laboratory. Provides support such as answering telephones, faxing reports, and send-outs. Provides training and/or orientation for internal employees and external customers. Promotes and maintains a professional manner in all situations.
Required: High school graduate or GED equivalent. Successful completion of applicable clearance as outline in Human Resources policy HR-106 with 90 days of commencing employment.
