Front of House (FOH) Team Member

(Host • Server • Food Runner • Busser • Cashier)

Position Summary

The Front of House Team Member is responsible for delivering outstanding hospitality and creating a positive guest experience at Brienzo’s Pizza + Bar. FOH Team Members may work in multiple positions including Host, Server, Food Runner, Busser, and Cashier, and are expected to assist wherever needed to support smooth and efficient restaurant operations.

This role requires professionalism, urgency, teamwork, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Greet all guests warmly and professionally
• Provide attentive, friendly, and efficient hospitality throughout the guest experience
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude during all shifts
• Answer guest questions regarding menu items, specials, and restaurant procedures
• Handle guest concerns professionally and involve management when necessary
• Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized dining environment

Host Responsibilities

• Welcome and seat guests efficiently
• Manage wait lists and seating rotation
• Provide accurate wait time estimates
• Answer phones and assist with takeout orders
• Keep host stand clean, organized, and stocked

Server Responsibilities

• Take guest orders accurately and efficiently
• Provide menu recommendations and answer menu questions
• Deliver excellent table service throughout the dining experience
• Monitor guest satisfaction and anticipate guest needs
• Process guest payments accurately
• Maintain proper section cleanliness and organization
• Complete side work and closing duties assigned by management

Food Runner Responsibilities

• Deliver food accurately and quickly to guests
• Verify food presentation and ticket accuracy before leaving the kitchen
• Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and servers
• Assist with table maintenance and guest needs during food delivery
• Ensure guests have proper condiments, utensils, and refills

Busser Responsibilities

• Clear and reset tables quickly and efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the dining room
• Assist servers with guest needs and table upkeep
• Stock and organize service stations
• Sweep, sanitize, and maintain restaurant cleanliness throughout the shift

Cashier Responsibilities

• Process cash, credit card, and gift card transactions accurately
• Coordinate takeout and online orders efficiently
• Maintain accurate cash handling procedures
• Balance cash drawers properly
• Provide friendly and efficient guest checkout experiences

General FOH Expectations

• Arrive on time and in proper uniform
• Follow all company policies and sanitation standards
• Maintain professional appearance and personal hygiene
• Work collaboratively with all FOH and BOH team members
• Maintain urgency and productivity throughout the shift
• Complete opening, running, and closing duties consistently
• Assist in any FOH area when business demands require support

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds when necessary
• Previous restaurant experience preferred but not required
