Propulsion System Simulation Engineer - Battery / Energy Systems
Overview
We are seeking a Propulsion System Simulation Engineer to support advanced engineering programs through detailed modeling and simulation of battery and energy storage systems. This role focuses on analyzing system performance, including discharge behavior, durability, and charging characteristics, to inform design and testing decisions.
This is a hybrid position offering a balance of independent technical work and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced engineering environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesConduct simulations of battery and propulsion systems, including : Discharge performanceCharging behaviorSystem durability and lifecycle analysisAnalyze simulation results and recommend next steps to support engineering and testing decisionsTrack simulation outputs, assumptions, and action items for ongoing program supportManage and prioritize simulation workload across multiple projectsCollaborate with engineering, validation, and design teams to integrate simulation insightsMaintain detailed documentation of simulation models, inputs, and resultsSupport continuous improvement of simulation methodologies and workflowsEnsure simulations align with project timelines and engineering standards
QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related fieldMinimum 2+ years of experience in : Battery systemsEnergy storageElectric propulsion or similar simulation environments
Required SkillsProficiency in simulation tools such as : MATLAB / SimulinkPython or equivalent modeling toolsStrong understanding of battery system performance, including charging, discharge, and durabilityStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and drive decisionsExcellent documentation and communication skills
Preferred SkillsExperience with battery pack modeling or electric propulsion systemsKnowledge of battery cell, module, and pack-level electrical and thermal behaviorExperience with simulation workflows related to : Fast charging (DCFC)Discharge profilingDurability modelingExperience managing simulation workloads across multiple programsAbility to support knowledge transfer and documentation for ongoing engineering efforts
