Skyworks is an innovator of high-performance analog semiconductors whose solutions are powering the wireless networking revolution. Through our broad technology expertise and one of the most extensive product portfolios in the industry, we are Connecting Everyone and Everything, All the Time.

At Skyworks, you will find a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on global collaboration, minimal layers of management, and the freedom to make meaningful contributions in a setting that encourages creative thinking. We are excited about the opportunity to work with you and glad you want to be part of a team of talented individuals who together are changing the way the world communicates.

Requisition ID: 76504

Description

Skyworks is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to drive our Die Processing Services within the Acoustic Filter Technologies group. As the Director of Filter Die Processing Services (DPS), you’ll play a pivotal role at the cutting edge of high-performance Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) and Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) filter production. This is your opportunity to shape the future of wireless connectivity, collaborating with a team of world-class experts in a fast-paced, innovative, and highly collaborative environment.

  • Strategic Impact: Lead advanced die processing operations fundamental to developing state-of-the-art acoustic filter technologies.
  • Innovation at the Helm: Steer innovation and operational excellence across every stage of die processing, ensuring best-in-class product reliability and performance for high-frequency RF applications.
  • Leadership and Vision: Inspire a team of top-tier talent, foster a culture of collaboration, and guide the future direction of acoustic filter technologies.

Reporting directly to the Vice-President of Acoustic Engineering you will be empowered to make significant decisions, influence industry trends, and be recognized as a leader in the field.

Bring your expertise, creativity, and passion—ignite the next wave of wireless advancements with Skyworks Filter Technologies!

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in die singulation, integrating advanced methods (including plasma and stealth dicing) to optimize BAW and SAW filter production, cost efficiency, and throughput.
  • Manage die-level inspection protocols using enhanced visual, IR, machine vision, and automated optical systems to identify defects, enforce standards, and continuously refine criteria and equipment.
  • Direct and optimize tape-and-reel packaging, adopting automation and improved layouts to maximize clean-room space, traceability, and process efficiency.
  • Implement robust quality control measures and comprehensive procedures to proactively detect and minimize die-level damage, leveraging data analytics, SPC, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to pilot new technologies, streamline workflows, and support process improvements and technology introduction.
  • Ensure compliance with global industry standards, drive continuous improvement, and regularly audit processes to optimize capacity utilization and minimize waste.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions using advanced analytics, maintaining best practice databases to support ongoing quality and cost optimization.

Required Experience and Skills

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in die processing, semiconductor manufacturing, or acoustic filter technology, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated track record of managing technical teams and driving process optimization in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Strong project management capabilities and experience with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and yield improvement strategies.
  • Professional certifications in semiconductor manufacturing or quality management are advantageous.
