Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting professional to join our Corporate Accounting team. This role is responsible for researching, evaluating, and implementing complex accounting issues in accordance with U.S. GAAP. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide guidance on accounting implications of business transactions and ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Research and interpret accounting literature (U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations) to support appropriate accounting treatment for complex transactions.
- Lead or support the implementation of new accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of technical accounting memos and whitepapers.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on M&A transactions, debt and equity financing, leases, revenue recognition, and other non-routine transactions.
- Collaborate with external auditors and facilitate the audit process for areas requiring technical expertise.
- Monitor and communicate changes in accounting standards and evaluate their impact on the organization.
- Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
- Provide training and support to the broader accounting team on technical topics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or national firm preferred) and/or industry experience in a technical accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Demonstrated experience preparing technical accounting memos and implementing new accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Experience with accounting in a public company or within a high-growth organization preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools preferred.
Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 - $105,000 + bonus + medical, dental, vision benefits starting day 1 + 401k and PTO. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
