Job description

About Rivian Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract. As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations. Role Summary The well qualified candidate will be responsible for technical program management of in-house developed high voltage (HV) Onboard Power Electronics products that support bi-directional AC Charging and DC-DC power conversion for Rivian’s various vehicle programs. The role requires a high level of initiative, independent judgement, and indirect leadership capability. You will be responsible for driving the end to end design, development, release, validation and launch for different Rivian Electric Power Conversion Electrical Hardware projects. In this role you will collaborate with cross functional teams to align on overall program deliverables and report on status and risks to ensure visibility across teams. Responsibilities Project management of EPC Onboard Power Electronics products including PCBAs, Mechanical component integration, and higher level system integration. ● Create high level timeline and milestones for tracking critical design release dates, pre-production pilot build MRD’s, supplier and internal validation plans, and support of supplier sourcing selection and industrialization. ● Detailed Management of component timelines from concept to delivery. ● Ensuring that BOMs are released and sourced on time to support build events and eventual PPAP. Tracking long lead part and tool order needs and collaborating with supply chain on due dates and status throughout the development. ● Support prototype build and delivery allocation planning to cross-functional customers, manage master part lists (MPLs), and demand tracking ● Manage Contract Manufacturing Supplier sourcing down-selection and production start-up ensuring any build issues get resolved with prompt attention. ● Coordinating, Tracking and Reporting of Design Validation and Process Validation activities ● Collaborate with SW TPM on planning overall engineering bring-up activities and feature maturity milestones ● Collaborate with other cross-functional domains to ensure system and vehicle level requirements and milestones are achieved ● Prompt and effective communication of status, actions and escalations to the Product Delivery Team to execute and succeed. ● Co-develop and track EPC component build, test, and validation budgets. ● Root cause analysis (RCA) issue tracking and corrective action implementation planning using JIRA and other tools Qualifications ● Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology field or related work experience ● Familiarity with high voltage power conversion and PCBA design is required. ● 8+ years automotive experience in program management. ● Understanding of automotive engineering release processes. ● Good knowledge of program management process and vehicle development timeline tools (e.g. Smartsheet, JIRA, Confluence, Vizzlo). ● Experience creating and implementing new program management processes. ● Ability to work and communicate with cross functional teams. ● Ability to effectively manage multiple projects. Pay Disclosure The salary range for this role is $154,000 - $192,500 for Torrance, CA-based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual performance bonus and equity awards. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits for full-time and part-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26, including but not limited to paid vacation, paid sick leave, and a competitive portfolio of insurance benefits, including life, medical, dental, vision, short-term disability insurance, and long-term disability insurance to eligible employees.
