Job description

The Crown Is Yours

At DraftKings, AI is becoming an integral part of both our present and future, powering how work gets done today, guiding smarter decisions, and sparking bold ideas. It's transforming how we enhance customer experiences, streamline operations, and unlock new possibilities. Our teams are energized by innovation and readily embrace emerging technology. We're not waiting for the future to arrive. We're shaping it, one bold step at a time. To those who see AI as a driver of progress, come build the future together.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, Data, you'll lead high-impact initiatives across our Sportsbook Trading domain, driving the strategy, execution, and outcomes behind critical data apps and platforms. You'll partner with Engineering, Product, Analytics, Trading, and Data teams to identify opportunities, define what needs to be built, and shape how solutions come to life. Operating at the intersection of data product management, technical leadership, and solution architecture, you'll bring clarity to complex challenges, align stakeholders around a shared vision, and proactively uncover what the business needs before it's asked. Your ability to connect business priorities with scalable data solutions will directly influence how we power and evolve our Sportsbook platform.

What You'll Do

  • Own the Data App strategy for the Trading vertical, partnering with Product, Analytics, and Engineering to prioritize high-impact work, define roadmaps, measure success, and proactively identify opportunities before they become requests.
  • Translate complex business challenges into well-defined technical solutions by conducting independent research, validating stakeholder needs, defining requirements and acceptance criteria, and ensuring teams are solving the right problems.
  • Drive execution across cross-functional initiatives by managing dependencies, surfacing risks early, aligning stakeholders, and maintaining visibility into delivery progress and business outcomes.
  • Raise the quality bar for technical delivery by establishing clear requirements, success criteria, and scalable processes that enable Engineering teams to move faster while maintaining high standards.
  • Champion AI adoption across Data, Engineering, and Analytics teams by identifying opportunities for automation, developing AI agents and reusable skills, and embedding AI-powered workflows that improve productivity and decision-making.
  • Stay closely connected to production systems and business operations, proactively monitoring incidents, supporting triage efforts, and ensuring teams learn from operational challenges.
  • Contribute to the growth and effectiveness of the TPM organization by mentoring junior TPMs, sharing knowledge, documenting solutions, and developing frameworks, tooling, and best practices that elevate the broader team

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; a Master's Degree is a plus.
  • At least 4 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, Technical Product Manager, Engineering Lead, or similar role within a data-intensive environment.
  • Deep Sportsbook or iGaming domain expertise, with experience supporting Trading, Sportsbook, Gaming, or closely related functions; ability to anticipate needs, challenge assumptions, and drive meaningful outcomes.
  • Proven experience leveraging AI to transform team workflows, including building and deploying AI agents, automation solutions, or reusable skills that drive measurable improvements in productivity, delivery, or decision-making.
  • Strong SQL skills and a data-driven mindset with an ability to independently analyze data, validate assumptions, and use insights to inform decisions.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Sigma, along with a strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data architecture. Experience with Kafka or real-time streaming technologies is a plus.
  • Exceptional technical communication skills, with the ability to translate complex business challenges into clear requirements, detailed technical specifications, and actionable plans that enable Engineering teams to execute effectively.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with a track record of leading cross-functional initiatives, bringing structure to ambiguity, and building alignment across Engineering, Product, Analytics, and executive stakeholders.
