Job Summary:
Responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients of all age groups. Responsible for receiving and processing laboratory specimens in main Lab and Pathology and determining where lab tests will be performed, in house or sent to reference labs. Responsible for transcription of Pathology results. Responsible for performing waived and non waived moderately complex testing under the on site supervision of the general supervisor. Responsible for reporting results in a timely manner in accordance with Laboratory Policies and Procedures. Performs duties which may require both technical and professional judgment. Participates in Department's Quality Control, Quality Assurance, maintenance and safety programs. Maintains parts, reagents and supplies in areas assigned. May be required to evaluate new methods, participate in teaching, continuing education, and other organizational activities. Performs any and all related duties under the supervision of a Medical Technologist. Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification: High school graduate or equivalent, phlebotomist or medical assistant, BLS Required Knowledge of medical terminology, pathology, anatomy and physiology.
