Your Job

Molex is rapidly growing and seeking a new Reliability Test Engineer to join our team in Lisle, IL. In this position you will evaluate mechanical test requirements to ensure cable designs and manufacturing processes produce high speed data cables that meet or exceed the customer’s expectations. This position will focus on our and products.

Our Team

The Datacom & Specialty Solutions Division is dedicated to designing and delivering high-quality, high-speed data cable products for a variety of applications. Our team collaborates across multiple departments, including product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure we exceed customer expectations and uphold Molex’s commitment to excellence.

What You Will Do

  • Evaluate, plan, and conduct mechanical testing to prove the quality of our data cable products.Coordinate lab activities with multiple departments, including product development, manufacturing, signal integrity, and quality.
  • Perform mechanical testing of High-Speed cable assemblies.Support data analysis, identification of critical to quality aspects of product design and manufacturing process and author reports to summarize findings.
  • Collaborate closely with multifunctional teams to determine quality and suitability of cable assembly products. Maintain records for test execution, schedule, and reporting.
  • Create and execute test plans, conduct requirements reviews, perform test verification and validation, analyze results and document results.
  • Create test process documentation, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Understand, support, and contribute to Molex TQM and Quality / Environmental Management Systems by following approved policies and procedures.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in product testing and measurement.
  • Working knowledge of standard mechanical test equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely with global teams.
  • Analytical ability to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions, observe results, and make informed corrections.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 10%

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with mechanical test and measurement equipment such as force measurement equipment and flex test equipment.
  • Working knowledge of TDR modules, 4-port network analyzers, and bit error rate testers.
  • Experience using relational databases with software such as Microsoft SQL or MySQL.
  • RF/microwave circuit design and PCB layout with software such as Mentor Graphics PADS or Cadence Allegro.
  • Exposure to advanced PCB fabrication methods.
  • Electromagnetic simulation with software such as Ansys HFSS or CST Microwave Studio.
  • Lean/six sigma yellow or green belt training and an understanding and application of control charts, process capability, gage R&R, and other lean/six sigma tools.

For this role, we anticipate paying $85,000- $120,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
