The University of South Dakota seeks a 12-month full-time Testing Center Coordinator for the USD – Sioux Falls Testing Center Mon-Fri 8a-5p. This proctor position deploys exams for all students who need exam services as well as community members who are seeking to take exams for professional development or licensure. This position manages the day-to-day operations of the Testing Center and coordinates with key academic and student support departments across all SDBOR institutions to ensure exams are deployed in accordance to policy/requirements. Collaboration with the Office of Accessibility, the I.T. Office, the Student Support team, and Faculty is critical to serving students in this position as students who attend online and/or face-to-face need proctoring or have special circumstances that need specific approval. This position works closely with the leadership team to ensure the department operates efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities Include - Coordinating exams and assisting with student scheduling
- Ensuring the student exam registration system is up-to-date each semester
- Overseeing day-to-day operations and communications
- Compiling, analyzing, and reporting data as needed
- Providing customer service to faculty, staff, students, and visitors
- Ensuring proctor certificates are current and engaging in regular proctor training
- Maintaining strict confidentiality with exam material and student data
- Maintaining the testing center space by disinfecting/cleaning exam stations after use
- Ensuring computers are up-to-date and supported with the help of the Technology Services department
Preferred Qualifications: - Proficiency in technical/computer knowledge including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and other digital platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and consistency with exam deployment
- Strong written, interpersonal, and oral communication skill
- Higher Education experience
- Experience in proctoring exams
This position offers state health insurance and benefits, which includes a retirement plan with 6% matching, 10 hours of annual leave each month, 9.34 hours of sick leave each month, and 11 paid holidays.
