About the Position: Lane County is seeking a skilled and collaborative Capital Projects Coordinator to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of construction and facility improvement projects that support essential public services across our community. In this role, you will manage a variety of capital construction projects from concept to completion, working closely with county departments, contractors, consultants, and community stakeholders. Responsibilities include developing project scopes and timelines, managing budgets, overseeing procurement and contracting processes, coordinating project teams, and ensuring projects remain on schedule, within budget, and compliant with applicable regulations. This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys solving complex problems, building strong relationships, and bringing projects to life. Successful candidates will be comfortable balancing multiple priorities, navigating competing interests, leading project teams, and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. The Capital Projects Coordinator plays a key role in shaping the spaces and infrastructure that support Lane County employees and residents every day. From facility improvements and modernization efforts to large-scale capital investments, your work will help create safe, functional, and sustainable environments where county services are delivered. If you are passionate about project management, construction coordination, public service, and delivering meaningful results for the community, we encourage you to apply and help build the future of Lane County. About the Division: The mission of Lane County's Capital Planning work group is to maximize limited resources and effectively manage and improve the County’s diverse portfolio of facilities. Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm. *This is a non-represented position. * Education and Experience: Eight years of education and/or experience in project management, construction management, or similar. Or an equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. Special Requirements: Background check is required. Oregon driver license required at time of appointment. Studies have shown that women, BIPOC, Persons with Disabilities, and Neuro Divergent individuals are less likely to apply for jobs unless they believe they are able to perform every task in the job description. We are most interested in finding the best candidate for the job, and that candidate may be one who comes from a less traditional background. The county will consider any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to meet minimum qualifications. If you are interested in applying, we encourage you to think broadly about your background and skill set for the role.
