Seeking a Training Specialist to support our Navy customer in Jacksonville, FL (N6 Communications site).
The Training Specialist will provide command-level training management, planning, and execution support to USNAVSOUTH/FOURTHFLT and subordinate commands. This role will serve as the principal command training coordinator, liaison to SOUTHCOM, and administrator of multiple DoD and Navy training systems. The Training Specialist ensures compliance with Joint, Navy, and DoD training requirements, develops and executes training objectives, and integrates training into operational planning and exercises to enhance command readiness.
Serve as Command Training Coordinator and liaison to SOUTHCOM J7/9-2; attend coordinator meetings and support the annual SOUTHCOM Command Training program planning and execution.
Consolidate and gain approval for staff participation in SOUTHCOM-funded courses.
Serve as command Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) administrator; coordinate with Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) program manager for mission essential training tasks.
Monitor and evaluate exercise activities to assess effectiveness of training objectives.
Act as principal Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) Training Coordinator; maintain command JKO profiles, resolve JKO issues, and provide subordinate command support.
Ensure personnel complete Theater Entry Requirements (10 TERs) per the Foreign Clearance Guide (FCG) to maintain deployable readiness.
Serve as General Military Training (GMT) and Navy eLearning coordinator; track training status for personnel and provide weekly leadership reports.
Maintain Fleet Training Management and Planning System (FLTMPS) and Total Workforce Management System (TWMS) profiles to support training administration.
Act as liaison to USAID/Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) and coordinate 24 training events annually.
Coordinate and reserve on-base training facilities, including ATG Mayport auditorium and NAVSTA Mayport HQ meeting rooms.
Serve as an Operational Planning Team (OPT) member for operations and exercises requiring training integration.
Develop Mission Essential Task List (METL) training objectives and enter into JTIMS.
Provide training management in lower echelon commands and reserve units.
Execute DoD and Navy mandatory training requirements in accordance with governing instructions.
Support MOC operations in the information environment, including information operations planning for exercises and real-world events.
Plan, coordinate, and execute formal and informal training programs directly impacting command readiness.
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum 10 years training experience with military, civilians, and foreign nationals.
Minimum 3 years of component-level exercise planning.
Minimum 2 years of direct Maritime Operations Center (MOC) support.
Demonstrated experience delivering and facilitating training in in-person environments.
Strong background in training program design, development, and evaluation.
Extensive experience with DoD/Navy training systems, including: JKO, FLTMPS, JTIMS, DRRS, JTT, TWMS, CeTARS, Navy eLearning.
Comprehensive understanding of Joint and Navy training processes and requirements.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills to develop and present training guidance.
Superior organizational and management skills; ability to manage large training programs.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and SharePoint.
Certifications / Qualifications
Joint Qualification Officer (JQO), Maritime Staff Operations course MSOC, JPME I/II, AJPME, or MOPC (preferred).
Required Clearance
TS/SCI clearance (required).
