Job Description
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills:
Strong hands-on experience in Scala development with expertise in building high-performance, scalable, and low-latency trading applications.
Extensive experience in Capital Markets and Trading Systems, with a strong understanding of Front Office trading workflows.
Strong proficiency in Scala frameworks and libraries such as Akka, Play Framework, Cats, ZIO, or similar.
Experience developing and supporting electronic trading platforms, Order Management Systems (OMS), and Execution Management Systems (EMS).
Strong understanding of functional programming principles, concurrency, and distributed systems architecture.
Experience working with real-time market data feeds, trade execution systems, and event-driven architectures.
Hands-on experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS, or equivalent.
Strong expertise in SQL and working with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices-based applications.
Familiarity with FIX Protocol and electronic trade execution workflows.
Strong understanding of trade lifecycle processes including order capture, execution, allocation, settlement, and reporting.
Experience working in Linux/Unix environments and utilizing source control tools such as Git.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Docker, and containerized deployments.
Proven experience working in an Agile development environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and performance tuning skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Roles Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Scala-based trading applications supporting front-office trading and capital markets operations.
Build and enhance high-performance, low-latency systems for market data processing, trade capture, and trade execution.
Develop scalable microservices and distributed applications to support trading and investment banking platforms.
Collaborate closely with traders, business analysts, quantitative analysts, and operations teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
Integrate trading applications with market data providers, exchanges, broker platforms, and internal systems.
Develop and maintain real-time data processing solutions leveraging messaging platforms such as Kafka and event-driven architectures.
Analyze and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions.
Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability to meet demanding trading system requirements.
Participate in the design and implementation of OMS, EMS, and trade processing enhancements.
Ensure compliance with development standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with cross-functional technology teams to deliver robust and reliable trading solutions.
Support application release activities and production deployments while ensuring minimal impact to trading operations.
Continuously evaluate and impleme nt best practices in Scala development, functional programming, and distributed computing.
