Position Summary:

Are you ready to be at the forefront of advanced manufacturing? You'll be responsible for transforming engineering visions into reality by reviewing complex drawings, CAD models, and specifications. You'll plan how products get built, determine necessary tooling, and integrate technical composite and hardware knowledge. This is a pre-preg shop, focusing on cutting-edge composite manufacturing.

Essential Functions:

  • Craft the instructions: Document clear and precise manufacturing instructions for the fabrication, machining, inspection, assembly, and paint of composites and metal components. You'll be adept at writing strong technical work instructions.
  • Build the foundation: Construct Item Masters (IM's) and Bill-of-Materials (BoMs) in our ERP software.
  • Empower the supply chain: Develop IPD and XOP drawings to assist manufacturing and supply chain in procuring parts and services. Generate instructions for rework or repair of non-conforming materials.
  • Be the expert: Provide critical support with engineering clarification and interpretation.
  • Drive continuous improvement: Implement redlines to manufacturing plans for correction or clarification.

  • Shape the future: Generate CAD geometry for CAM programming and tooling. You must have strong CAD experience, capable of creating simple 2D or possibly 3D drawings.
  • Ensure quality: Generate and coordinate Non-Destructive Test (NDT) reference standard manufacturing plans and technique sheets.
  • Collaborate for success: Coordinate and communicate with customer or supplier engineering to resolve technical questions or issues.
  • Validate excellence: Participate in First Part Qualification activities related to composite and metal bond parts.
  • Optimize operations: Coordinate to provide technical guidance for continuous improvement activities to enhance quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Work on diverse aircraft parts: This role involves working on a variety of aircraft components including panels, doors, windows, air tips, air ducts, and skins for aircraft.
Requirements

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience with leading manufacturing specifications, techniques, and processes for aircraft components, specifically composite fabrication/engineering (including pre-preg material, honeycomb cores, metal bonding, and experience with tooling).

  • Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (SAP or Net Suite strongly preferred).
  • Must have strong CAD experience, including proficiency with CATIA V or SolidWorks CAD & PLM systems.
  • Composite and manufacturing experience is a must.
  • Highly organized with the ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A problem-solver who can navigate complex challenges and make sound judgments based on diverse information.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to drive projects to completion.
