Position DescriptionThe Senior Director of Strategic Communications & Digital Engagement for Rural Affairs & Strategic Initiatives is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive internal and external communications strategies that advance TTUHSC’s Rural Affairs & Strategic Initiatives priorities and institutional strategic initiatives. This position leads messaging strategy, digital engagement, web presence, social media strategy and storytelling efforts to elevate the university’s impact across rural and underserved communities. The Senior Director ensures consistency in brand voice, strategic alignment and accessibility across all platforms, while memorializing institutional knowledge and supporting executive leadership with high-level presentations and engagement materials. This role requires a strategic thinker with expertise in communications planning, digital engagement, executive-level messaging and cross-functional collaboration. The position works closely with Communications & Marketing, Rural Affairs leadership, Strategic Initiatives leadership and institutional stakeholders to ensure cohesive and effective communication across the university’s footprint.

- Follow all TTUS and TTUHSC Operating, IT and Safety policies and complete all trainings as required.
- Create ongoing internal and external communications to support Rural Affairs and Strategic Initiatives.
- Develop executive-level presentations and memorialize institutional knowledge.
- Creative design execution
- Update and maintain Rural Affairs & Strategic Initiatives content on the TTUHSC intranet and external-facing websites.
- Develop and execute comprehensive communications plans across all phases of initiatives.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy for Rural Affairs and Strategic Initiatives.
- Develop and execute storytelling campaigns highlighting Rural Affairs impact.
- External engagement support, including in-person regional engagement.

Preferred Qualifications- Experience in higher education, academic health sciences or complex multi-campus organizations.
- Knowledge of rural health, community engagement or strategic initiatives within an academic or health care setting.
- Advanced expertise in strategic communications planning, digital storytelling and multi-channel campaign execution.
- Experience developing and implementing comprehensive social media strategies with measurable year-over-year growth in engagement and reach.
