The Worker is looking for a Workforce Expert to join our team and work closely with our Chief Programs Officer (CPO) to advance our mission, vision, and growth. This role is perfect for someone who loves connecting with people, navigating resources, and making a real impact-one person at a time.
What You'll Do
As a Workforce Expert, you'll be a guide, advocate, and cheerleader for individuals on their employment journey. Your work will include:
Supporting clients one-on-one with resumes, mock interviews, job leads, and essential resources like transportation and professional clothing
Helping clients create and follow personalized employment plans aligned with their goals
Providing ongoing encouragement and accountability through regular check-ins
Building strong relationships with community partners and local employers
Staying in the know about community resources, job opportunities, and social services
Attending job fairs, networking events, and community meetings
Using a trauma-informed, person-centered approach that treats every guest with dignity and respect
Advocating fiercely for clients to access the services they need
Keeping accurate documentation, case notes, and outcome tracking
Auditing resources monthly and collaborating with the CPO to keep records accurate
Sharing one monthly client success story with our Development Team (yes-feel-good moments included!)
Participating in quarterly staff meetings and occasional evening or weekend events
What You Bring
You might be a great fit if you have:
Excellent communication and organization skills
The ability to work independently and take initiative
Strong advocacy skills and confidence navigating community resources
A judgment-free approach and comfort working with diverse populations
Your own vehicle, valid driver's license, and current insurance/registration
Flexibility to travel between sites and work occasional evenings/weekends
Ability to obtain and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
Bonus points if you're bilingual in Spanish!
Education & Experience
BS in Social Work or a related field preferred (but not required)
At least 2 years of experience in a related field
Direct service experience (professional or volunteer) strongly preferred
