Job description

IT Business Analyst

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for IT Business Analyst. The IT Business Analyst ensures that business processes and supporting systems continue to meet the needs of stakeholders across the enterprise. This role is critical in aligning ERP capabilities with production, supply chain, finance, and quality processes while enabling scalability, efficiency, and operational excellence. They will focus on deep ERP process expertise, particularly around end-to-end manufacturing workflows such as quote-to-cash (Q2C), procure-to-pay (P2P) and inventory/warehouse management. The role spans the tactical, day-to-day work of discovering, validating, documenting, and communicating business-process-related knowledge and analyzing current and future states across our ERP, CRM, Microsoft Azure ecosystem, and automation platforms.

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious and naturally driven to identify inefficiencies and leverage technology to make operations faster, more accurate, and more scalable. This position supports the business process owner, enabling better decisions about changing processes to drive higher performance outcomes consistently.

  • Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users.
  • Monitors issue queue and resolve problems users have or create enhancements requests and support requirements gathering for IT to implement. Internal
  • Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through information systems, automation, Microsoft Copilot, or non-system driver changes; assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes.
  • Plans, organizes, and conducts business process reengineering and improvement projects end-to-end, from discovery through deployment and hypercare.
  • Tests, and supports solutions across ERP’s (JD Edwards, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central), ServiceNow ITSM, and the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Maps, documents, and continuously improves end-to-end ERP process flows— including quote-to-cash (Q2C), procure-to-pay (P2P), plan-to-produce, and warehouse/inventory management—working closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain stakeholders to ensure system configurations accurately reflect business rules and drive process efficiency.
  • Researches and prepares reports, consolidating information into cohesive and understandable written deliverables for use in management decision-making.
  • Participates in and leads user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality.
  • Develops training curriculum and conducts formal training sessions covering assigned systems and modules.
  • Minimal travel but as needed to support our locations.

The skills and experience you need:

Education

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience

  • Five or more years of business process analysis, major computer system implementations, or change management. Internal
  • Five or more years of working with cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contexts.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms, preferably JD Edwards (JDE), and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including participation in implementations, upgrades, configurations, and day-to-day support. Must demonstrate deep understanding of end-to-end ERP-driven business processes in a manufacturing environment, especially quote-to-cash (Q2C), procure-to[1]pay (P2P), and warehouse/inventory management.
  • Experience with ServiceNow ITSM (or a comparable IT service management platform), including incident, problem, change, and request management workflows. Familiarity with ServiceNow reporting, or workflow design is a strong plus.
  • Exposure to the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including Azure services, Entra ID (Azure AD), Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI), and SharePoint/Teams, and an understanding of how these components support business solutions.
  • Experience with automation technologies such as PowerAutomate, RPA, workflow automation, or scripting to reduce repetitive manual work.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot and an understanding of how it can be applied to improve productivity and business processes.
  • Manufacturing industry experience required, with demonstrated knowledge of core manufacturing processes such as production planning, shop floor operations, inventory and materials management, supply chain, quality, and the full order lifecycle from customer quotation through invoicing and cash application.
  • Experience in process innovation and business process redesign is preferred.
  • Strong project management skills, including a demonstrated ability to deliver large business process change initiatives across the enterprise.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic, conceptual thinking, and consulting skills.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists.
  • Strong influence and negotiation skills, with the ability to drive alignment without formal authority.
  • Ability to effectively drive people, process, and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment.
  • Strong presentation, spreadsheet, flow charting, and word processing application skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Teams).
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP platforms, preferably JD Edwards (JDE), and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, with the ability to map, troubleshoot, and optimize end-to-end process flows such as quote-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and plan-to-produce.
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM for tracking incidents, changes, requests, and supporting continuous service improvement.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Azure ecosystem and Power Platform, sufficient to scope requirements, partner with IT, and champion solutions built on the platform.
  • Practical exposure to automation tooling and Microsoft Copilot, with sound judgment on where these capabilities can deliver business value.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of producing effective project documentation, including business functions, business information systems, requirements, user stories, and test scripts.
  • Procedures and methods for testing business functions within computer systems, using strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Personal Attributes

  • Intellectually curious and hungry to learn the business end-to-end, with a strong desire to understand how each department operates and what drives performance.
  • Efficiency-minded problem solver who consistently evaluates processes for improvement opportunities and applies technology to eliminate manual work, reduce cycle times, and improve data quality.
  • Continuous-learner mindset, with awareness of emerging technologies (automation, cloud, low-code, analytics, Microsoft Copilot) and a perspective on where they can deliver meaningful business value.
  • Collaborative and approachable, comfortable working directly with end users on the shop floor, in the warehouse, and in the back office to observe work firsthand.
  • Takes ownership, follows through on commitments, and communicates proactively with stakeholders at all levels.
