Yard Hostler Driver

The Yard Hostler Driver is responsible for moving trailers and other equipment around the yard and ensuring they are properly positioned for loading and unloading. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Implements practices to ensure compliance with operational policies and procedures. Resolve operational issues and escalate complex issues as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Move trailers and other equipment around the yard using a yard tractor.
• Ensure trailers are properly positioned for loading and unloading.
• Perform safety checks on equipment before and after use.
• Communicate with other yard personnel to coordinate movements.
• Maintain a clean and organized yard.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Required PPE:

• Safety Vest
• Safety Glasses
• String Knit Gloves

Skills / Qualifications:

• Fluency in both English & Spanish.
• Must be able to understand written and spoken instructions.
• May be working in crowded industrial spaces, so safety awareness is key
• Some assignments include responsibility to clean trailers.

Job Competency / Qualifications:

Education/ Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid License
• Must communicate using cellular telephone or 2-way radio with operations, and personnel in a courteous and professional manner.

Technical Requirements:

• Experience operating a yard tractor or similar equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate equipment for extended periods of time.
• Willing to load and unload.
• Thorough understanding of warehouse procedures and regulations.

Experience:

• One (1) to Two (2) Years professional work experience in a Holster Yard, Warehouse, or a Fulfillment Center in a fast-paced work environment.
