Medical Assistant PRN Back Office Day Shifts

Madison, MN $37,099 - $46,099 a year

Job Type: Full Time

Job Summary: Support the delivery of healthcare and patient management in a clinical setting. Daily duties vary based on the practice's needs at any given time.

Essential Responsibilities:

Provide direct and delegated patient care, recognizing normal and abnormal signs to identify at-risk patients. Deliver care following established standards and guidelines. Respond to phone inquiries and triage appropriately, offering reassurance, accurate education, and guidance.
Ensure smooth healthcare service delivery throughout patient visits. Maintain accurate, complete, and updated medical records. Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints. Monitor patients with abnormal symptoms, communicate findings to the physician, and document accordingly. Confirm patient understanding of physician instructions upon discharge. Enter medical record data and billing information into electronic systems.
Assist with testing and treatment procedures under physician supervision, including applying splints and dressings. Follow physician orders thoroughly. Manage sample medications and logs. Coordinate necessary patient testing, admissions, and referrals. Retrieve test results and notify patients. Support physicians during minor surgeries and physicals. Obtain consents before invasive procedures or immunizations. Distribute educational materials and ensure patient comprehension of treatments and medications. Perform laboratory tests and maintain lab logs.
Maintain stocked and organized patient care areas, equipment, and materials. Ensure exam rooms are clean, orderly, and comply with cleaning protocols. Sterilize instruments and verify equipment functionality. Order and manage clinical supplies and patient education resources.
Perform additional duties as assigned, adapting to changing responsibilities as needed.

Education and Experience Required:

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant or Nursing Program.

Work Shift: 8:00am 4:30pm

Scheduled Weekly Hours: Variable (PRN)

Location: Serving patients in a regional area of the Midwest United States.
