A day in the lifeIt’s 3:55 a.m. on Friday and the press bay is waking up. You review the job ticket, pull substrates and inks, and bring your narrow-web flexo press online. Plates are mounted, registration is dialed in, and color targets lock fast. As the first web threads through, you’re already thinking two jobs ahead—how to maintain speed, keep waste down, and still hit the customer’s exacting specs. Throughout the weekend shift, you own your press: setup, run, verify, adjust, clean, and repeat—so every label leaves the floor ready to impress.

Your impact- Set up, operate, and care for a narrow-web press to meet job ticket and customer specifications.
- Interpret production orders and prepare substrates, inks, coatings, and finishing components for each run.
- Load material, mount plates/blankets, balance ink/water, fine-tune registration, and confirm color accuracy.
- Monitor runs continuously; adjust ink flow, pressure, and web feed to sustain quality and throughput.
- Execute in-process quality checks to align with company and customer standards.
- Troubleshoot issues quickly to reduce downtime and minimize waste.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance; escalate larger repair needs promptly.
- Champion safety procedures and keep your area organized and audit-ready.
- Partner with supervisors, production, and quality teams to meet schedules and customer commitments.
- Proven experience operating sheet-fed offset or digital press.
- Knowledge of substrates used for labels, tags, cartons, or specialty packaging.
- Exceptional attention to detail with keen color evaluation skills and quality focus.
- Ability to interpret job tickets, production timelines, and quality specifications.
- Familiarity with offset, UV, and water-based inks and coatings (preferred).
- Mechanical aptitude with skill in press adjustments and minor repairs.
- Comfort standing for long periods; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative communicator with dependable work habits.
