Job description

Job Description:
  • The Software Engineer I will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions.
  • This role involves working across the full software development lifecycle, contributing to CI/CD pipelines, modernizing legacy applications, and delivering high-quality applications aligned with organizational and customer goals.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with system engineers, frontend developers, and software developers to implement solutions aligned with shared platforms and architectures.
  • Apply SDLC principles and methodologies such as Lean, Agile, XP, CI, software and product security, scalability, documentation, refactoring, and testing techniques.
  • Write high-quality code that meets standards and delivers required functionality, including compiling, testing, and test execution.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines across diverse deployment environments.
  • Automate the production of technical documentation to satisfy procedural and compliance requirements.
  • Build web services and applications that interface with existing data stores.
  • Analyze performance parameters and assess application performance.
  • Modernize legacy applications using tools such as Git and modern testing frameworks.
  • Work within small agile teams while contributing to large-scale enterprise solutions.
Requirement / Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Library Science, or STEM disciplines.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as WPF, React, HTML5, CSS, and Angular.
  • Experience with back-end technologies including C#, Fortran, C++, ASP.Net, .Net Framework, and .Net Core.
  • Experience interfacing with databases such as SQL Server or Oracle.
Experience:
  • Prior experience working in an Agile or Lean environment, or formal training in Agile methodologies.
  • Hands-on exposure to CI/CD practices and tools.
Skills:
  • General understanding of software development life cycle and the impact of technology choices.
  • Experience with Entity Framework.
  • Awareness of Lean, Agile, and XP methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Business Acumen:
  • Ability to break down complex problems and estimate development effort accurately.
  • Understanding of current technology trends and ability to introduce new ideas to the team.
  • Clear understanding of project value propositions and customer impact.
  • Ability to align personal and team goals with organizational vision and decision-making frameworks.
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to influence using data and factual evidence.

Qualification And Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Library Science, or a STEM-related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
