PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB AND CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION:

This position supports production objectives by performing material handling needs to support a production line or shipping and receiving. Operates hand tools, heavy machinery including forklifts, and at times computers.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The employee will be required to perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities requested by the supervisor. Job duties may change as required by needs of company.

1. Perform all assigned material handling requirements as assigned by the Supervisor. Responsibilities are subject to change based on supervisor’s direction.
2. Review the required work orders and scheduling of parts collection, kitting, and delivery to the designated work area in a timely manner.
3. Conduct a visual inspection on all parts to ensure proper part, quality, and quantity is received prior to delivery.
4. Pick-up empty totes and/or parts requests from various pick-up areas on route every 20 minutes.
5. Accurately delivers parts/supplies to departments drop off areas in an orderly manner and check for Kanban shortages and restock as needed.
6. Operate stock chaser as required to achieve pick-up and delivery of parts/material/WIP.
7. Ability to perform daily maintenance and pre-operational checks on the forklifts, stock chaser, trailers, and charging station, including refueling.
8. Informs management of developments regarding the “Milk Run” operation or material issues.
9. Ability to use a Forklift and other devices to move materials, equipment, and parts to their designated area.
10. Empty scrap/ trash containers (Belts, Cells, Plasma, Machine, Crate) and dispose of all steel, belting, and trash from the plant to the containers in the rear of the facility.
11. Assist with loading or unloading transport vehicles, containers with parts, and/or new product, etc.
12. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Ensure company policies are applied and enforced (i.e. operational, safety, administrative, etc.)
13. Cross train in two different production areas at the basic level (such as Fabrication, Belt, Paint, and Assembly).
14. Ability to work under tight deadlines not limited to working overtime or alternate shifts.

2. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
3. Must be forklift certified.
4. Ability to obtain stock chaser and crane certification.
5. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, geometric tolerances and weld symbols/diagrams, alerts/warnings and correspondence, including work orders, Kanban cards, etc.
6. Possess basic production mathematical skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
7. Possess the ability to read and interpret a variety of machine gauges, monitors, and electronic instrument panels required in the set-up and production of products.
8. Ability to perform basic visual quality inspections on product.
9. Possess teamwork and strong interpersonal skills. Possess the ability to communicate effectively with all Interroll employees in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner.
10. Possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written, or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: :

This position requires constant standing, use of hands and fingers and eye-hand coordination. This position requires frequent reaching with hands and arms, and occasional sitting, walking, talking, hearing, and turning or bending at waist. Incumbent must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Good close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well depth perception and the ability to see colors and adjust focus are required.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. This position works indoors in a manufacturing (warehouse) environment. Must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold. This position is occasionally exposed oil, grease or dirt, and to the risk of electrical shock. A loud noise level is typical for the work environment of this job. Wearing the proper PPE (protective eyewear, ear plugs and steal toed shoes) is a requirement in most areas of this facility.
