Description
We are searching for a Truck Driver to work in our Pet Segment, providing logistics, production, and maintenance support at our Segrest Farms, Gibsonton location. This position primarily involves loading freight on trucks for deliveries. Primary job duties are driving, delivering and unloading freight to various locations and businesses. Other duties involving errands, picking up supplies, supporting maintenance and production crews are also typical. $18.00/Hour MEASURES OF SUCCESS- Loading individual customer orders on trucks in an organized and efficient manner.
- Effectively interpret and understand the paperwork provided to assist in organizing the shipments.
- Unload or deliver the orders intact, confirming box counts, etc. to air cargo or customer location.
- Maintain a pleasant working relationship with our contacts.
- Maintain trucks in clean, operational manner.
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES- Ability and willingness to work with others.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Comfortable driving trucks as large as a 26’ box truck in urban conditions.
- Maintain punctual and regular attendance for scheduled work hours.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Obtain a valid Florida driver’s license.
- CDL and or DOT certified preferred, but not required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately.
- Responsible, reliable and dependable work habits.
- Ability to problem solve and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
WORKING CONDITIONS- Work hours may vary; Monday through Friday.
- End of day varies depending upon shipments & duties anticipated each day.
- Weekend hours are possible but are not routine.
- Ability to lift packages to 50 lbs. or more.
