Job description

We are looking for a seasoned General Manager with several years of success running a quick service, or quick casual restaurant concept. Surcheros isn't new, but it's new to the Nashville market. We plan to open several locations around town over the next few years. There will be growth opportunities for the right people. We want to partner with our GM's in their growth, the growth of their store, and the brand in our area.

We are involved; we care about our business, our people, and our customers. The food is great. The concept is not terribly difficult to manage. It's honestly a dream GM job for those of us that have the experience to build and keep a productive team together.

The Manager role for a Surcheros restaurant is an incredible opportunity to anchor or boost your career. We are seeking motivated Managers with excellent interpersonal and business management skills. Most importantly, is the ability to build and lead a high-performance team that works well together to increase profits and provide superior service.

The Manager maintains accountability for the efficient and profitable operation of the restaurant; the consistent delivery of customer service to all guests; the leadership and development of team members; the creation and maintenance of an environment of trust, credibility, dignity, and respect. The Manager exercises independent judgment and sets the standard in the day-to-day performance of job duties. The Manager will be vital to the success of their team members and the restaurant’s growth.

Surcheros is a fast-moving, quickly-scaling fast-casual concept. This creates ample opportunity for upward growth if you are a candidate that aims toward regional or district manager responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Essential duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Increase sales by providing outstanding product and service.
  • Write an effective work schedule each week and post it by 5 pm on Friday.
  • Work lunch, dinner and weekends, monitoring quality of food and service.
  • Ensure restaurant is 100% staffed with quality Team Members.
  • Ensure full implementation of new employee orientation and training programs.
  • Review the performance of all Team Members, Shift Managers and Assistant Managers two times per year.
  • Execute all Systems daily to ensure a clean, organized restaurant, prepared to deliver quality food in a friendly environment.
  • Purchase food, beverages and supplies as needed and oversee their preparation to ensure that every product served meets our high standards of product quality.
  • Operate in accordance with established performance, profits and operating Standards as set out in the Operation Manuals.
  • Supervise and motivate Team Members, Shift Managers and Assistant Managers to perform to their highest possible level of ability.
  • Have a good working knowledge of all equipment and assume responsibility for preventive maintenance of a unit.
  • Maintain high standards of service throughout the operational day by Demonstrating leadership by example.
  • Utilize all management tools to keep neat, accurate and current records providing the historical data to plan for increased sales and profits.
  • Ensure all marketing plans are executed on time and accurately to build repeat Customer visits.
  • Responsible for initiating and implementing approved Local Store Marketing.
  • Review income statements and progress toward goals with the District Manager. Take action to solve problems as necessary.
  • Communicate openly and honestly with subordinates, superiors and all others about plans, progress, and problems.
  • Continually help develop Assistant Managers in the operation of a Surcheros unit and prepare them for General Manager responsibility.
  • Provide leadership by engendering excitement, enthusiasm, a positive mental Attitude, and commitment toward company objectives.
  • Responsible for increasing sales and making a profit.
  • Maintain an attitude of flexibility that allows performance above and beyond the parameters of this position description.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule working at least one open, close, and one mid shift per week.
  • Must work a minimum of 50 hours per week.
  • Ensure that your team members provide the best guest service.
  • Make guests feel welcome and important.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints quickly and with a Smile.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years of single unit management experience
  • A solid track record in achieving financial results
  • Guest oriented
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Friendly, respectful attitude
  • Able to work on their feet up throughout the entire shift
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to stand for long periods of time

When Luke Christian left his rural South Georgia home for college, he never imagined that one day he would come home to open a restaurant. Bringing together big taste and bold flavors with the Southern hospitality of his youth, Luke opened his first restaurant in Douglas, GA during 2007, serving freshly prepared Tex-Mex favorites.
Surcheros quickly became a community favorite, a place where they remembered your order and your name. It wasn’t long before others heard about this concept and desired one to open in their town. Luke, and his beautiful wife, Nicole, began to dream big and shared a vision of expansion.
In 2017, franchising Surcheros restaurants began with a complete remodel and updated branding, while staying true to their original convictions. By the end of 2020, Surcheros had quickly grown to 18 locations, with plans to build a flagship restaurant and corporate headquarters in Alpharetta, GA.
Based on this idea, and a desire to become a nationally visible brand, Luke and Nicole moved their family to Alpharetta, where they currently reside. They are so excited to continue their success, expanding the reach of Surcheros to North Georgia. Luke, Nicole and the entire Surcheros family cannot wait to serve the Alpharetta community and many, many more.
