Job Description Summary The facility attendant will report to the on-duty Course Manager, Recreation Specialist, and Recreation Supervisor. To become familiar with facility standards, responsibilities, and expectations, most attendants will work primarily outside with golf carts and the driving range for an initial period before being trained on clubhouse operations. Golf course attendants assist with oversight of both inside and outside operations on any one shift. The Attendant will be required to:
- Utilize a computer software program to make tee time reservations, check golfers in for their tee times, and sell annual passes;
- Abide by dress code and maintain a positive and welcoming environment to all golfers at all times through appearance, responsiveness and language;
- Manage the daily traffic of the golf shop and ensure golfers are following established policies in and around the golf course;
- Be responsible for removing trash and washing the interior, exterior, and windshields of golf carts, and ensuring golf carts are properly charged or filled with gas and sand bottles are filled with sand;
- Be responsible for the preparation and sale of concession items and the maintenance of concession storage areas;
- Provide correct and courteous answers to telephone and verbal inquiries and handle or make applicable referral of all complaints/problems
- Picking golf balls off driving range and ensuring golf balls are properly cleaned for future use;
- Work in adverse weather (rain, hot, and cold) conditions;
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Qualifications Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age to work in the clubhouse or 15 years of age to work outside only;
- Have experience with computers;
- Have knowledge of the game of golf;
- Be able to count change and handle money;
- Have or obtain a Boone County Food Handler Permit and City of Columbia Alcohol Server Certificate within 30 days of hire;
- Be able to lift 25-50 lb. such as water jugs and range ball baskets;
- Maintain a schedule of at least 3 shifts or 20 hours each week during the March-October season;
- Be willing and able to work all assigned shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Due to mild winter temperatures and less percipitation, on average the courses are open 300-315 days. Part-Time employees do not qualify for sick, holiday or vacation pay. Pay checks are issued bi-weekly.
Hours Varies - Courses open 7 days a week from 7a-dark; Staff may arrive as early as 5a to prepare for daily play or tournaments
