Work Schedule : Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Exempt classification.

Essential Functions : Under the general supervision of the Executive Director of the Career Center, or designee, the Experiential Learning Analyst serves as a key member of the Student Employment and Academic Internship Administration Team, providing advanced project management, compliance oversight, and operational leadership in alignment with CSU, campus, and divisional strategic goals. The Analyst ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of complex student employment and academic internship processes that impact institutional risk, HR accountability, and student access to experiential learning. Core responsibilities include evaluating student position descriptions for classification and collective bargaining compliance; determining background check requirements; reviewing I-9 documentation and employment eligibility; conducting enrollment audits for payroll and tax alignment; assessing internship site risk and insurance coverage; facilitating student liability insurance; and supporting agreement negotiations with off-campus employers. The Analyst evaluates policies and procedures, identifies efficiencies, and develops solutions where guidelines are insufficient. The role sustains operational infrastructure, provides lead work direction to staff, and supports critical processes to ensure timely, accurate, and seamless service delivery. As the primary campus contact for student employment and internship administration, the Analyst ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality experiential learning opportunities that strengthen the university's operational capacity and advance long-term student success and career outcomes.

Required Qualifications & Experience : Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. Two years of progressively responsible professional experience in administration, project management, or a related area. Experience independently managing highly complex administrative processes requiring interpretation of policy and coordination across multiple units. Experience applying laws, regulations, and policies to employment, payroll/tax, collective bargaining agreements, or risk management processes. Demonstrated ability to evaluate workflows, recommend improvements, and ensure compliance with regulations. The incumbent must have a demonstrated interest and/or ability in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

California State University, Los Angeles, as part of the CSU system, is a State of California Employer. As such, the University requires all employees upon date of hire to reside in the State of California. Desired Qualifications : Master's degree in business administration, public administration, higher education administration, or a related field emphasizing organizational leadership, systems management, or process improvement. Experience with student employment administration in a higher education setting, including job classification compliance and collective bargaining agreements. Experience conducting audits of student enrollment or employment records to ensure alignment with payroll and tax requirements. Experience supporting contract or agreement review processes in collaboration with Procurement, Risk Management, or similar entities. Experience designing and administering surveys, analyzing student outcomes data, and preparing reports to inform decision-making and measure program impact. Knowledge of employment authorization requirements and demonstrated experience reviewing I-9 documentation and determining eligibility for work authorization. Knowledge of risk management and insurance practices, including experience facilitating student liability insurance or reviewing internship site risk to support compliance. Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and manage administrative systems or technology solutions that streamline workflows, track compliance activities, and improve data accuracy. Proven leadership experience guiding administrative staff, fostering adaptability, collaboration, and accountability in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, and compliance-driven environment. Demonstrated expertise in operations analysis, problem solving, and strategic process improvement, including the ability to interpret data and develop sound recommendations for new or revised policies. Strong consultative and facilitation skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse internal and external partners, manage sensitive or complex situations with discretion, and build consensus around process improvements. Ability to effectively present ideas and concepts in written, verbal, and presentation formats to influence decision-making and advance organizational goals.

Closing Date : Review of applications will continue until the position is filled; however, the position may close when an adequate number of qualified applications are received. A COMPLETED ON-LINE CAL STATE LA EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION IS REQUIRED. RESUMES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN LIEU OF A COMPLETED APPLICATION.

The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment.
