Job Title: Pipelayer
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Pipelayer to join our construction team. The Pipelayer is responsible for installing, assembling, connecting, and maintaining underground piping systems for water, sewer, drainage, and storm systems. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in outdoor and trench environments.
Key Responsibilities
Install underground pipes for water, sewer, storm drain, and utility systems
Lay out pipe routes following blueprints, grade stakes, and specifications
Prepare trenches to ensure proper depth and alignment
Position and secure pipes, fittings, valves, and hydrants
Check slopes and pipe alignment using laser levels and grade rods
Seal pipe joints using gaskets, glue, cement, or other approved materials
Backfill trenches and compact soil after installation
Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely
Assist heavy equipment operators with pipe placement
Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations
Perform general site cleanup and maintenance
Qualifications
13 years of experience in underground utility construction preferred
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and grade stakes
Knowledge of pipe systems, fittings, and installation techniques
Understanding of trench safety and excavation standards
Ability to work in various weather conditions
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Valid drivers license (preferred)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift 5075 pounds regularly
Frequent bending, kneeling, standing, and climbing
Ability to work in trenches and confined spaces
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Work Environment
Outdoor construction sites
Exposure to noise, heavy equipment, dust, and weather elements
May require overtime, weekends
