JOB DESCRIPTION
The Manager, Accounting & Financial Reporting is an integral member of the Finance team supporting the Fox Digital & Technology organization. The Manager, Accounting & Financial Reporting is responsible for the financial integrity and operational oversight of the Digital & Technology P&L, managing monthly and quarterly close processes to ensure accurate, timely, and complete financial reporting. In addition, this role serves as a key business partner to operational stakeholders and external suppliers across all purchasing and invoicing activities. The Manager oversees the end-to-end Procure-to-Pay process, collaborating cross-functionally to drive financial discipline, process efficiency, and strong internal controls. This position plays a critical role in validating financial results, including reconciliation of the full Balance Sheet and P&L, investigating variances, and ensuring reported results align with business expectations.
The Manager exercises strong independent judgment in resolving issues, demonstrates ownership, and consistently delivers high-quality, timely results without the need for constant supervision. Additionally, this role collaborates with the FP&A team during budget and forecast cycles to support planning activities and ensure alignment between actual results and forward-looking projections. This position reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Accounting & Financial Reporting.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Month-End Close/General Accounting
- Manage monthly and quarterly close processes for the Operating Division, including oversight of third-party goods and services, proper expense codification, and accurate general ledger recording
- Analyze actual spending results and review accrual journal entries to ensure completeness and accuracy of third-party costs across both the P&L and Balance Sheet
- Serve as a subject-matter expert on monthly financial results, clearly articulating drivers of spend, key variances, and accounting treatments to finance and operational stakeholders
- Partner with operational leaders and the FP&A team to investigate expense fluctuations, provide variance explanations, and support reporting deliverables
- Perform and validate monthly reconciliation of key Balance Sheet accounts to ensure reported financial results are accurate, supported, and compliant with internal controls
Principal Partner and Procure-to-Pay Process
- Manage the Procure-to-Pay Process including day-to-day vendor management and invoicing, including answering vendor inquiries, overseeing invoice processing, working closely with cross-functional teams to secure appropriate approvals, and resolving payment issues.
- Serve as the primary finance liaison to Accounts Payable, operational stakeholders, and external vendors, facilitating vendor onboarding, issue resolution, and adherence to internal policies
- Ensure compliance with Purchase Order policies and approval workflows to support accurate accruals and timely expense recognition
- Partner cross-functionally to review and interpret contractual terms, supporting appropriate financial treatment and alignment between purchase orders and invoice processing
- Proactively identify and implement process improvements, including automation and system enhancements, to drive efficiency and scalability
Other Activities
- Partner with the FP&A team during month-end and budget/forecast cycles to support financial planning and performance analysis
- Ensure timely completion of close deliverables in coordination with the General Accounting team, maintaining accountability for assigned reporting deadlines
- Prepare and contribute to management presentations and supporting materials related to financial results and operational performance
- Assist in supporting Internal and External Audit requests including ensuring proper compliance with identified “Key SOX Controls” and proper documentation of transactions and tracking status of requests
- Reconcile and validate embedded cost reports from cross-divisional partners, collaborating with stakeholders to investigate material variances and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Respond to ad hoc financial inquiries and support quarterly reporting requirements from Corporate Accounting, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- 3–5+ years of accounting or finance experience, preferably within public accounting or a large corporate environment
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting and working knowledge of GAAP
- Strong analytical thinking
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify variances
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and accountability
- Demonstrated experience supporting month-end close processes, financial reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and the ability to analyze large data sets; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

- Experience with Workday Financials and Coupa
- Experience supporting Engineering, Technology Infrastructure, or SaaS-driven operating environments
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and emerging technologies (including AI-enabled tools)
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $114,000.00-130,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
