Description

Rocky Mountain Gastroenterology is looking for a Procedure Scheduler to join our team. If you thrive in a supporting role, possess amazing time management and organization skills, all while being able to support world-class patient care - This is the opportunity for you! Purpose: Excellent opportunity for a self-motivated individual with a strong ability to multi-task.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS ROLE:
  • Schedule all appointments according to guidelines set by physicians and facilities for participating physicians.
  • Call patients to schedule various appointments at the direction of the primary care physician or other referring provider.
  • Request any pertinent medical documentation needed by physicians to assist in patient care.
  • Obtain current and accurate insurance information for proper payment for services provided.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and patient support.
  • Understand medical terminology or willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with state/federal commercial health insurance payers, or willingness to learn.
  • This position involves sitting at a desk, using computer and phone for a period of up to 8 hours with normal breaks and mealtimes.
  • Ability to manage a large volume of calls.
  • Work with other departments on assigned projects.
DESIRABLE QUALITIES IN A CANDIDATE:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of EMR and AllScripts highly desirable.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, required.
  • A sense of discipline to work in accordance with accepted medical standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders, and medication orders.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and function as a team-player.
