Your future duties and responsibilities:
The Junior AWS Java Full Stack Developer (Backend-Focused) supports the design, development, and delivery of scalable cloud-based applications, with a primary focus on backend services. This role works under the guidance of senior engineers and architects to build, enhance, and maintain cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS services. You will collaborate with business analysts, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate functional requirements into technical solutions aligned with established architecture and coding standards.
Responsibilities include contributing to backend development using Java and Spring Boot within AWS environments, supporting the development of microservices-based solutions, and assisting in the design and implementation of RESTful APIs. You will help integrate applications with databases and external systems, participate in code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and support deployments.
This role provides hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including development, testing, deployment, and production support, while building foundational skills in cloud-native development and distributed systems.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. 1–3 years of overall software development experience
. 1–2 years of hands-on experience with Java
. Working knowledge of Spring Boot and familiarity with the Spring ecosystem (Spring Data, Spring Security, etc.)
. Basic understanding of RESTful API development and microservices concepts
. Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, or API Gateway
. Exposure to cloud-native application development
. Familiarity with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL, Oracle) and basic SQL
. Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and version control systems (Git)
. Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker (preferred but not required)
. Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, SNS/SQS) or caching technologies (Redis) is a plus
. Working knowledge of front-end technologies (Angular, React, or similar) is a plus
. Understanding of Agile development methodologies
. Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies
. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
