Brief Position Overview The Upward Bound Program is a federally funded grant designed to prepare eligible high school students for success in college. During the six-week Summer Institute, participants live on-campus and are enrolled in integrated academic enrichment classes. Students experience various activities during the summer including, but not limited to, field trips, workshops, social and cultural activities. Faculty will meet in April and May to begin planning. Background checks are required for all successful applicants.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesRESIDENTIAL SUPERVISOR (1 opening): (Live in position during summer program)
The residential Supervisor (RS) is responsible for the direct supervision of the team leaders, night floor supervisor, and the day-to-day management of the residential component. The RS reports directly to the Residential Coordinator. Responsibilities may include coordinating travel, planning social and educational activities, and travel with UB students. The RS also serves as a liaison with campus offices including residence life and student health.
RESIDENTIAL LEADERS (4 openings): (Live in position during summer program)
Residential leaders serve as mentors for high school aged students for the residential component of the Summer Institute. Residential Leaders need to be positive role models; willing to work in a team environment; experienced with group and individual activities; have an understanding of students from diverse backgrounds.
NIGHT FLOOR SUPERVISOR (1 opening): The Night Floor Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring the residence hall floor between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
INSTRUCTOR POSITIONS: Foreign Language (Any language except Latin) 1 Opening
Integrated Math 1 Opening
English/Language Arts 1 Opening The summer faculty work within the framework of team teaching and integrated curriculum. The core curriculum consists of science, math and language arts. The faculty will develop and implement an integrated curriculum based on the summer theme Metal. Elective courses include foreign language and technology. Dates of employment are from June 10, 2026 through July 24, 2026.
Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & SkillsRESIDENTIAL SUPERVISORMinimum Qualifications: Upper class students in college, supervisory experience, and experience in TRIO programs or college residential programs. Preferred candidates have experience with TRIO students, residence life experience, and experience working with high school students or entering freshmen. Residential Supervisors are required to live on campus. Pay Rate: $17.00/hour.
RESIDENTIAL LEADERSMinimum Qualifications: Candidates should have completed two years of college, or one year of college experience with one year of campus living. Prefer candidates with experience in Upward Bound, Talent Search, residence life, or other youth related programs. Team Leaders are required to live on campus. Pay Rate: $15.00/hour.
NIGHT FLOOR SUPERVISOR Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate should have completed a minimum of one year of college. Prefer candidates with experience in residence life or other youth related programs. Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
INSTRUCTOR POSITIONS:Minimum Qualifications: All teaching positions require a Bachelor's degree. Teaching certification and teaching experience preferred. Collegiate teaching experience may substitute for teaching certification. Preference will be given to candidates whose teaching philosophy is compatible with thematic based integrated curriculum taught by a team of core instructors. Salary range is commensurate with teaching load.
