Senior Software Engineer - Java / Identity & API Platforms

Our client, a leading organization in the technology and financial services industry, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Java / Identity & API Platforms to join their dynamic team. As a Senior Software Engineer - Java / Identity & API Platforms, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting innovative platform development teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration abilities, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully within the organization.

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer - Java / Identity & API Platforms

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid - 3-4 days onsite per week)

Position type: 12 months with possibility of extension/Conversion

What's the Job?

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Java services supporting RESTful APIs.
• Build cloud-native, scalable services deployed on GCP or similar public cloud platforms.
• Implement secure APIs using protocols such as OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and SAML.
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and availability in a security-sensitive environment.
• Participate in production support, incident response, and continuous system improvements.

What's Needed?

• 8+ years of strong Java expertise with experience in building production-grade services.
• 8+ years of hands-on API development experience, including RESTful services and security.
• Experience with cloud deployment on GCP or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Solid experience with access management protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML.
• Proven ability to build and operate high-criticality systems with strict SLAs.
