Working at Steve Rider State Farm means joining a team led by someone who truly lives the same life as the customers and team he serves. Steve grew up in the small town of Spencerville, Ohio, and still carries those small-town values of hard work, honesty, and showing up for people when it matters most. After graduating from The Ohio State University with a degree in Business Education, he made Columbus home, and it’s where he’s built both his family and his business.


Steve and his wife Katie-who is also a State Farm Agent-are raising three kids, Charley, Liam, and Theo, along with their dog Chloe, so he understands firsthand what it means to protect a family and plan for the unexpected. Outside the office, you’ll find him fully invested in Ohio State football Saturdays, staying active in the Columbus Chamber of Commerce, and supporting local organizations like the Parker Lee Foundation and Habitat for Humanity.


In his agency, Steve leads with a very personal, hands-on approach. He’s present, approachable, and focused on helping his team grow in confidence, skill, and long-term career success. With award-winning performance at State Farm’s highest levels and a strong reputation built on relationships, Steve has built an environment where people are coached, supported, and truly valued not just managed. ROLE DESCRIPTION:
As a Customer Service Representative - State Farm Agent Team Member with Steve Rider - State Farm Agent, you will generate the kind of exceptional customer experiences that reinforce the growth of a successful insurance agency. Your attention to detail, customer service skills, and desire to help people make you a fit. You will enhance your career while resolving customer inquiries, coordinating with other agency team members, and anticipating the needs of the community members you support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Answer customer inquiries and provide policy information.
  • Assist customers with policy changes and updates.
  • Process insurance claims and follow up with customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to multitask.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
