The Town of Longmeadow, MA DPW is seeking qualified applicants for the FT (40 hours per week) positions of Highway Foreman. Position is responsible for supervising and working with small work crews involved in construction, repair and maintenance of water and sewer systems, highway, road and drain systems and similar public works projects. Work includes directing and assisting work crews, ensuring the quality and completeness of work performed and assisting in the overall efficiency of project operations.
Successful candidate must have:
High School diploma or equivalent, and 3 to 5 years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience in public works construction and maintenance. Current valid motor vehicle license; Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brake and Tanker Endorsements required, with Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brake and Tanker Endorsements preferred. Hoisting License-2A required. OSHA 10 and Asbestos pipe safety training will be required once hired. Must be able to pass a CORI check.
