Job Description:
The Boston Globe is hiring a reporter for the Money, Power, Inequality team, a groundbreaking initiative to explore the racial wealth gap in Boston and beyond.
Boston is becoming increasingly diverse, with a majority of its residents people of color. Still, the city continues to grapple with a racist history that has reverberated through all facets of life today and has created systemic inequities that have made it difficult for many to build a prosperous life.
The Boston Globe is looking for a journalist who can unpack Greater Boston’s racial wealth gap, laying focus on systems and institutions that have failed Black and brown communities. The reporter should be well-equipped to tackle such accountability and enterprise stories in a human-centered way that properly conveys the context and nuance of this complex topic.
Money, Power, Inequality is a long-term, grant-funded initiative supported by the . The Globe will maintain complete editorial control over story selection, reporting, and editing.

The BGMP office is located in downtown Boston, near Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and is easily accessible by MBTA and commuter rail lines. This position is based in Boston, and candidates should be based in the area or willing to move.
This position is a union position covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the Boston Newspaper Guild.
