Department Summary
The Oregon Education Science Laboratory (OESL) is a research unit within the College of Education at the University of Oregon that conducts research on teaching and learning in STEM+C education (science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and computing) with an emphasis on creating and studying learning environments that foster equity and inclusion for historically underrepresented groups.
OESL is comprised of more than five Principal Investigators/Researchers who hold tenure and non-tenure track faculty positions, a business manager, two officers of administration, three graduate employees, as well as temporary employees, student employees, and courtesy research appointments and affiliates that vary in need. For the past years, OESL has operated with approximately 1.5 to 2 million dollars of annual revenue from federal grants and state contracts.
Position Summary
The Oregon Education Science Laboratory at the University of Oregon is seeking qualified applicants for its open research pool. Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years.
Potential areas of research include: research; program development; statistical analyses related to all phases of preparation of scientific papers, presentations, and grant applications; staff professional development at project level; and off-site research activities with a variety of populations including persons with identified developmental disabilities.
Research Associates and Postdoctoral Scholars will conduct independent research and participate on research teams.
Research Assistants will conduct research under the direction of Research Associates and participate on research teams.
Some positions may require bilingual written and oral fluency.
Some positions may include overnight travel and/or extensive previous experience in a similar job role.
Minimum Requirements
Research Assistant Category:
• Bachelor's degree in education or a related area
• Senior Assistant I rank requires a bachelor's degree AND 6+ years of experience
Research Associate Rank Category:
• Terminal degree in Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Educational Administration or related area
• Senior Associate I rank requires a bachelor's degree AND 6+ years of experience
Postdoctoral Scholar:
• Doctorate degree in Education, Special Education, Educational Psychology, Educational Administration or related area
