Position Title: Occupational Therapist (OT)

Summary
Carroll Park Healthcare is seeking a caring and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dynamic rehabilitation team. The OT will evaluate and treat residents to improve their ability to perform daily living activities and achieve greater independence. Working collaboratively with other therapy and nursing professionals, the Occupational Therapist plays a vital role in helping residents regain confidence, mobility, and quality of life. We have FT, PT, and PRN positions available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Evaluate residents’ functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to their physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs.

Implement therapeutic activities and interventions to promote independence in self-care, mobility, and daily living skills.

Provide adaptive equipment recommendations and train residents and caregivers in proper use.

Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with facility, state, and federal guidelines.

Collaborate with Physical Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, Nursing staff, and Social Services to ensure comprehensive care planning.

Educate residents, families, and staff on techniques to maintain safety and improve functional performance.

Supervise and guide Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and support staff as needed.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

Current, valid Maryland Occupational Therapy license.

Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.

Compassionate and professional demeanor with a commitment to quality care.

Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and assist with resident transfers.
Preferred: Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehabilitation settings.
