MRI (Full-time, Varibale Shift) -

The MRI Imaging Specialist provides nurturing, compassionate and personalized patient-centered care in an environment that focuses on healing body, mind and spirit. Performs highly specialized Magnetic Resonance Imaging examinations utilizing specialized equipment and software to obtain images of human anatomy for diagnostic and therapeutic determinations. Follows established departmental standard operating procedures to provide optimal imagery for diagnosis processes. Maintains responsibility of patient’s safety, care and monitoring. Performs functions such as processing of data for image reconstruction, transfer to Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS), quality control and quality improvement. Requires flexible hours and on-call responsibilities. Performs other duties as needed.
Completion of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited Radiologic Technologist Program required. Minimum one year radiology experience required; three years preferred. California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) certification required (If hired prior to January 1, 2012 ARMRIT only is acceptable). American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) required. MRI Registry (advanced certification) required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
Ability to operate all Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) equipment, Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), RadNet Radiology Information System (RIS) and diagnostic x-ray equipment. Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with all age group patients (neonates, infants, pediatrics, adults, elderly), physicians and co-workers. Ability to communicate effectively about complex matters with others. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position (i.e. Microsoft Windows, Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, internet, timekeeping, e-mail); troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment, and perform technical age specific patient care activities as required. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing and on the telephone; perform basic math functions essential to the position; think critically; organize and prioritize workload; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure, problem solve; recall information; pay close attention to detail; document legibly. Ability to hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, records, and written documents necessary to the position; discern temperature variances through touch.
