Job description

Position Information

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) has several positions at different levels, such as Research Assistant Professor, Research Associate, and Research Assistant. The positions are 12-month, contractual, grant-funded positions. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Self-motivated and goal-oriented individuals are encouraged to apply for this position.

UMES is located in rural Maryland and is one of America’s most beautiful campuses. The School of Pharmacy and Health Professions currently consists of the following departments: Kinesiology, Physical Therapy, Pharmacy, and Rehabilitation Services. The UMES School of Pharmacy has been approved by the Maryland Board of Regents and obtained full accreditation since Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the research activities, including performing experiments, analyzing data, possibility of teaching, and summarizing research results for publication, under the supervision of a faculty member.
  • Assist graduate students as they conduct experiments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Classification 29- Healthcare Practitioners and Technical Occupations Required Qualifications
  • PhD or M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Neurosciences, Virology, Cancer Biology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, Cell Biology, or equivalent degree.
  • Previous research experiences in cell/molecular biology, neurosciences, medicinal chemistry, cancer biology, genetics and/or biostatistics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Special techniques such as cell tissue culture, DNA/RNA isolation, animal models, molecular cloning, and/or protein chemistry.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of cell/molecular biology, neurosciences, medicinal chemistry, cancer biology, genetics and/or biostatistics.
  • Self-motivation and goad-oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to teach graduate student
