Position Description
Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) at Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis, MO is seeking an Clinical Nuclear Medicine Physicist.MIR is academically affiliated with Barnes-Jewish Hospital, a top 11 private hospital as per US News. MIR offer extensive facilities including PET/MRI, PET/CT, SPECT/CT, 5 medical cyclotrons, and GMP radiopharmaceutical preparation supporting cutting edge clinical care and translational research.
The nature of radionuclide dosimetry using imaging for therapy entails extensive and meticulous attention to details, in addition of being subject to current standards of practice and regulatory agency such as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The duty of the nuclear medical physics position will be to ensure safe and effective delivery of internal radiation to achieve a diagnostic or therapeutic results as prescribed for an individualized patient care. As such the responsibilities for the current position will include:
Basic Qualifications
Applicants must be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Radiology in Medical Physics ( degree).The applicant is required to have expertise in Nuclear Medicine scanners (conventional gamma cameras, SPECT/CT and PET/CT).Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in radionuclide dosimetry for imaging and therapy and those with expertise in radiation safety related to radionuclide administration.
