Job description
We are seeking a full-time Ophthalmologist - Retina Specialist to join our nationally recognized and award-winning Mercy Eye Specialists in Springfield, MO providing medical and perioperative management for retinal disease. A Mercy Eye Specialists provider will consistently interface with patients, collaborate with other surgeons, and need to possess strong communication skills. A passion for education and innovation is highly desired. Our eye care team in Springfield consists of nine ophthalmologists and five embedded optometrists. Retina, glaucoma, cornea, refractive, neuro, and pediatric subspecialties are all well-represented. Strong growth is projected over next three to five years.

  • Experienced group of 9 Ophthalmologists (3 Surgical Retina Specialists, 1 Medical Retina, and 5 Comprehensive Ophthalmologists)
  • Our entire group is highly respected, exceptionally trained, and provide compassionate high-quality eye care
  • Our team offers comprehensive eye services for patients of all ages.
  • Embedded Testing Center with Specialized equipment such as, IOL Master700, Galilei Tomography, Confocal, Endothelial cell Count, Visx iDesign, Eximer Laser, Avedro Crosslinking technology. Optos Camera, Autorefractor, ERG, Zeiss OCT 6000, Humphrey Visual Field, Fundus Camera, Cassini, B scan, Fluorescein angiography, Zeiss Forum
  • Dedicated Scribe and Retina OA's
  • Proven business available with high surgical block utilization and ease of access for adding urgent cases.
  • Dedicated Eye Surgery center and procedural staff, performing 6000+ surgeries annually. Hospital based & supported by an Integrated Anesthesia team of MD's and CRNA's. Mercy Hospital - Springfield is a robust Level 1 Trauma Center
  • OR suites are equipped with state-of-the-art technology such as femtosecond laser, superior Zeiss microscope technology with live OCT, Artevo heads up display and lens consignments including CT Lucia for scleral fixation
  • Most comprehensive, and the largest Ophthalmology department in 200+ mile radius of Springfield, MO.
