The Role

The Vice President of Operations will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of the fulfillment processes, supply chain optimization, and quality assurance. This executive will be responsible for managing the relationship with the 3PL providers, overseeing inventory management systems integrated with the ERP, and ensuring compliance with FDA regulations for raw materials and encapsulation. The VP of Operations will work closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to support growth initiatives and ensure that the products meet the highest quality standards.

This role requires deep experience in the supplement, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical industries, with a proven track record in scaling operations, supply chain management, and product compliance. Experience at leading companies such as Seed, Metagenics, or Nordic Naturals will be highly valued, as the candidate should have a strong understanding of how to manage both growth and operational complexity in a fast-paced environment.

This Vice President of Operations creates execution of strategy that enables a health movement that the world has never experienced before.

Responsibilities

3PL & Fulfillment Management

• Oversee the management of third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure efficient, cost-effective fulfillment of products to consumers and wholesale customers.
• Monitor KPIs such as shipping times, costs, and customer satisfaction, and drive continuous improvements in the fulfillment process.

Inventory Management & ERP Integration

• Ensure the smooth integration of the Inventory Management System (IMS) with the company’s ERP to provide real-time visibility into inventory levels, product demand, and supply chain logistics.
• Lead improvements in inventory forecasting and warehouse efficiency.

Supply Chain & Sourcing

• Develop and optimize the global supply chain, including sourcing of raw ingredients, packaging materials, and other essential components.
• Minimize lead times and costs while ensuring the highest standards for quality and compliance.

Packaging Design & Encapsulation

• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to design packaging that is both functional and aligned with the brand’s aesthetic.
• Oversee the encapsulation process, ensuring quality and FDA compliance throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.

Regulatory Compliance & QA/QC

• Lead the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) efforts to maintain FDA, cGMP, and other relevant certifications.
• Ensure that all raw materials, formulations, and final products comply with federal regulations and industry standards for safety and efficacy.

Strategic Planning & Collaboration

• Partner with the finance, sales, and marketing teams to align operational capacity with demand forecasts and product launches.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of the company by providing insights into operational efficiencies, cost-saving measures, and supply chain resilience.

Team Leadership

• Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing operations team.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability across departments.

Qualifications

• Industry Expertise: 10+ years of operational leadership experience in the supplement, nutraceutical, or pharmaceutical industries, with proven success in companies such as Seed, Metagenics, or Nordic Naturals.
• 3PL & Fulfillment Expertise: Extensive experience managing 3PL relationships, with a track record of optimizing fulfillment processes for D2C (direct-to-consumer) businesses.
• Supply Chain & ERP Integration: Demonstrated experience in optimizing supply chains, with expertise in utilizing integrating inventory management/ERP systems with ERP platforms for real-time operational visibility.
• FDA Compliance & QA/QC : In-depth knowledge of FDA regulations, cGMP requirements, and quality control processes related to raw materials, encapsulation, and finished goods in the supplement or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strategic Thinker: Proven ability to align operational strategies with business growth, working cross-functionally to support product launches, sales initiatives, and long-term company objectives.
• Leadership: Strong team leader with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop a diverse operations team.
