Responsibilities

The Cook is responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking food for patients, cafeteria customers, physicians, and staff in accordance with standardized recipes, therapeutic diet requirements, food safety regulations, and departmental policies. This position supports clinical nutrition services by ensuring meals are prepared accurately, safely, and in a timely manner to meet patient care standards.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• One year of institutional, hospital, or high-volume food service experience.
• Texas Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).

Preferred Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in healthcare, institutional food service, or high-volume food production.
• ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification or obtained within 30 days of hire.
