MC Amb: Pharmacy Mtn View- ( Unscheduled, Day Shift )

The Educator-Clinical (MVP), Mtn View Pharmacy, working in a home infusion environment, provides leadership in the educational process and transformation of care to evidenced based practice at the bedside with emphasis on safety initiatives, quality care, and best practices supported by innovative technology. Collaborates with other members of the management team and staff development educators to identify and address learning needs of staff in a cost effective manner; interfaces with other educators to minimize duplication of efforts and ensure standardization of educational material and processes. Provides education, training and quality improvement for home care and infusion-related programs such as Patient Controlled Analgesia (PCA), Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), antibiotic therapy, hydration therapy, and injectable therapy; develops policies and procedures specific to infusion therapy; serves as liaison and resource for home health agencies, interdisciplinary healthcare team members, patients and families; utilizes interpersonal skills to market infusion program and maximize excellence in customer service; provides cross-coverage for Home Health, makes visits to patient`s home as needed. Performs other duties as needed.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required. Minimum two years of experience as a RN in an acute care facility or Home Health required. Minimum two years of experience as a nursing educator preferred.
Knowledge of local, State, Federal, accrediting body, OSHA and Department of Public Health rules and regulations. Basic knowledge of healthcare law and finance preferred. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., LLUCIS, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Access; operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math and statistical functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; compose written material; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position.California Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Valid driver's license required. National certification in area of specialty preferred.
