Job description
Position:Nurse Practitioner (Interventional Cardiology & Radiology Centers)Location:Sacramento, CA (and at our other locations in Northern California)Schedule:Full-Time and Part-Time positionsSalary:Competitive Salary & Bonus ProgramBenefits:Health, Dental, Vision, EAP, 401(k), FSA, Costco, AAA, etc.ABOUT USWith a growing network of locations, both the Vascular Institute of Northern California and California Foot & Ankle Centers (CALFAC) provide comprehensive care and surgery, including advanced wound care and amputation-prevention therapies, lower extremity peripheral nerve surgery, vascular diagnostic testing, vascular and endovascular procedures, and reconstructive surgery.We have been serving patients for over 60 years, building a loyal patient base keeping our clinic and surgery center locations busy with little to no marketing during that time. Our highly-competent doctors and medical staff all believe in giving a caring approach to each patient, as well as our utilizing the most modern technology available. We value team building, and our staff oftimes engages in after work activities in order to build relationships and play an essential role in our community.JOB BRIEFWe are seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners for our vascular centers in the Greater Sacramento area. See for locations. Most work will be normal business hours. But sometimes weekend work will be required, based on when procedures are scheduled. As a member of our team, we all provide a high level of efficient patient care, while always presenting a caring, ethical, and professional experience for the patients, doctors and other team members. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESConsultation: Obtain thorough patient history, performs focused physical examination, formulates treatment plan and documents findings in the patient's electronic medical recordDemonstrates basic understanding of venous ultrasound and basic surgical skillReview pre-procedure instructions, explains procedure and review procedural risks and benefits with the patientObtain vascular access and perform conservative therapy evaluation, microsurgical phlebectomy, ultrasound guided sclerotherapy and visual sclerotherapyMaintain prompt and timely communication with the referring clinicians and patients (i.e. sends follow up letters, thank you letter and returns patients calls)Educate and counsel patients and distribute educational materialsDocument within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and complete other necessary documentsDemonstrate actions of a team player-assist peers with documentation and case load, provides vacation coverage for peers and offer overall support when appropriateDemonstrate pride in our high-quality care of our patients, and respect for fellow teammates.EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSMinimum of 2 years of experience in a physician's office or hospital settingCurrent California RN license/registration by the National Council Licensure Examination - Registered Nurses (NCFLEX-RN)Current California Advance Practice Nurse Prescriber License (Including all associated requirements for medical education, testing and logging of CME. bASIC KNOWLEDGE and ExperienceMinimum of 2 years of experience in a physician's office or hospital settingExperienced in diagnosis and treatment of common medical conditionsAbility to make independent decisions regarding patient careBasic working knowledge of managed care and Medicare populationVascular procedural experience is a big plus, and we provide additional trainingSkilled in surgical techniquesExcellent communication skillsPROFESSIONALISM□ Must have strong organizational and time management skills □ Ability to work on multiple tasks and meet deadlines □ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision □ Excellent communication skills □ Detail-oriented a must □ Ability to maintain strict confidentiality as required □ Be a team player□ Drive: Self-starter with initiative to assist in practice development, and to create motivation within the clinic team□ Collaboration: Ability to work within a team setting and leverage strengths of other to accomplish objectives□ Interpersonal skills: Approachable, able to establish rapport easily, demonstrates empathy and active listening skills PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, handle documents, bend and stoop as needed, and reach with hands and arms. The position requires use of keyboard and computer regularly. Strong vision abilities to perform extensive computer-related work.
