The MA assists the Primary Care Providers in providing quality care as delegated.This individual is also cross-trained to assist in clerical tasks, waived testing and phlebotomy.
Qualifications:
A.Education:
High School graduate or equivalent.Must have certificate of completion from an accredited medical assistant program (Associate Degree/Ladder Curriculum).In the process of completing the requirements and qualifications to receive American Medical Technologists Registry.
B.Training and Experience:
Minimum of six months experience working as a MA; one year of experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.Bilingual abilities desirable but not mandatory.Current BLS Certification required thru the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Full range of body motion including lifting and handling patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires correct vision and hearing to normal ranges. Occasionally lifts and carries up to 25 pounds. Requires working under stressful conditions and working irregular hours. Travel to out of town satellite clinics required as needed.
