Job Overview
The Hostess or Host is
responsible for providing a positive first and last impression to
our guests. You will greet customers as they enter and exit the restaurant, take and manage reservations,
control a waiting list, provide guests with menus, and show guests to their
seats. You will answer phone calls and customer inquiries about the
restaurant and menu. You will assist various restaurant staff at a Manager's discretion when necessary.
Responsibilities and
Duties

Greeting guests
as they enter and putting them on a waiting list as necessary.
●
Providing guests
with menus and answering any initial questions.
●
Seating guests at
tables or in waiting areas.
●
Assigning guests
to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers
receive the right number of customers.
●
Engaging with
guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.
●
Responding to
complaints and helping to resolve them.
●
Answering phone
calls, taking reservations, and answering questions.
●
A knowledge of
the menu.
●
Helping with
other positions in the restaurant as needed.
●
Providing great
customer service.
Requirements
●
High school
diploma or equivalent
●
At least 6 months
experience in a high-volume restaurant
●
A positive
attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff
●
Must be professional,
dependable, enthusiastic, and friendly
●
Must have a
positive attitude, be punctual and be a team player
●
Able to stand for
long periods and work in a fast-paced environment
●
Able to work a
flexible schedule including nights and weekends
●
Passionate for
creative food and exceptional service
●
Committed to
training and learning new skills
